Advocacy Alert: Terry Mansion Intervention

Quapaw Quarter Association Files Motion to Intervene in Terry Mansion Litigation

Terry Mansion

The Quapaw Quarter Association has filed a motion in Pulaski County Circuit Court, 12th Division, to intervene in the ongoing Terry Mansion litigation (see links below to read motion and brief in support of motion). The plaintiffs are heirs of the Terry family, which deeded the Terry Mansion to the City of Little Rock in 1964, for various specified uses.   The City of Little Rock and the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts are defendants. During the city’s ownership the Museum leased and/or used the building for its purposes.

The QQA contends that the property has fallen into a state of severe neglect and disrepair during the City’s ownership and the QQA seeks to intervene on behalf of the property itself to compel the defendants to remedy the current condition. The QQA is asking the court to rule on its motion to intervene so that as an intervenor the QQA can seek to protect the interest of the property by whatever means are found to be appropriate.

The QQA has no monetary or personal interest but is seeking to protect the property consistent with its mission, preservation of greater Little Rock’s historic places.

The QQA is represented by Harrison Kemp of Mann & Kemp, PLLC.
