QQA Celebrates May Day!
Celebrate Spring with the QQA!
In the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, May Day was a holiday anticipated with the same joy as Easter or the Fourth of July. Celebrating May Day goes back thousands of years to Roman times, and is more widely celebrated in Europe. The most common May Day tradition in the United States was the creation of May Day baskets – filled with snacks and flowers – that were left on the porches of friends, relatives, and potential romantic partners. Most people would leave baskets on porches, ring the doorbell, and then run away. Young suitors would leave baskets for their romantic interests, who would then be obligated to chase the person down the street for a kiss.
The QQA is reviving this tradition with their own version of May Day Baskets, just in time for Spring 2021. You can purchase two styles of baskets – an Adults' basket (with flower seeds, flowers, and herbs) or a Kids’ basket (filled with flowers, toys, chalk, and other kid-friendly items). Adult baskets are $30.00 and Kid baskets are $25.00. We will also deliver within a $15.00 mile radius of Curran Hall for $5.00.
Baskets can be picked up on April 30 at Curran Hall from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Saturday May 1 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Baskets will be delivered on May 1 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Purchase here!
Delivery is only available for addresses within a 15 mile radius of Curran Hall at 615 E. Capitol Ave, Little Rock, AR 72202.
