QQA to Host New Halloween Themed Event in October 2019
“Specters, Spirits, and Stories: A Haunted History Tour,” slated for October, is a new adults-only event hosted by the QQA which features a bus ride to some of the most important historic (and haunted) sites in Little Rock.
Two tours are scheduled for the evening of Friday, October, 18, 2019. The first tour will start at 5:00 pm and end at 7:15 pm. The second tour will start at 7:30 pm and end at 9:15 pm. The tour guide will be the QQA’s own Shelle Stormoe, Membership and Activities Coordinator for the non-profit.
Stormoe has a background in folklore and storytelling. She also spent three years telling ghost stories about historic sites when she worked at the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program as the Education Outreach Coordinator. Stormoe describes her approach as “more folktale than horror movie” and “more tall tale than paranormal” with “some true history thrown in.”
Tickets for the event include the tour along with snacks, beer, wine, a signature cocktail, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Some well-known sites chosen for this event include Curran Hall, the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, Mount Holly Cemetery, and the North Little Rock Heritage Center. Other lesser known sites will be included too.
Tickets are $50.00 each and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
